Stefan (00:00) In today's episode, Redrawing Your Picture, Embracing Flexibility and Self-Love, we explore how our expectations shape our emotions and how we can adapt to unexpected outcomes with kindness towards ourselves. Yesterday I experienced disappointment, frustration and anger. Reflecting on these feelings, I realized they stemmed from a picture I had painted in my mind, an expectation that didn't come to fruition. This unmet expectation triggered those intense emotions. Have you ever felt frustrated or angry because something didn't go as planned? Often our emotions are closely tied to our expectations. We create these mental pictures of how things should be, and when reality doesn't align, we feel a range of negative emotions. The key is to recognize that these mental pictures are just that pictures. They are not set in stone. We have the power to redraw them. Life is full of surprises and unexpected turns, and flexibility allows us to navigate these changes more gracefully. Instead of being harsh on ourselves when things don't go as planned, we can learn to adapt and adjust our expectations. But self-love plays a crucial role in this process. When we give ourselves the grace to adapt and the kindness to accept change, we cultivate resilience. Don't be too hard on yourself when your picture doesn't come true. Remember, it's okay to redraw and create new pictures that better fit your reality. Today, take a moment to reflect on any recent disappointments. Ask yourself if these stem from unmet expectations. Then give yourself permission to let go of the old picture and draw a new one. Embrace the change with love and compassion for yourself. May you find peace in flexibility and strength in self-love. Have a wonderful day filled with kindness and adaptability. All the best until next time. Goodbye.
